July 23, 2015Updated:July 26, 2015No Comments2 Mins Read

Joseph E. Newman, age 69, of Hamilton, Indiana, and formerly a long time resident of Bryan, Ohio, and Defiance, Ohio, died on Friday, July 17, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Bryan.

Mr. Newman was a 1964 graduate of Edon High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. A well-known entrepreneur and owner of Tri-Star Development, Joe was a valuable consultant to many businesses in the area, willing to help anyone with his giving nature. He was a devoted family man, supporting his family through the hardest of times with a kind heart, a smile and encouragement. He enjoyed making people laugh and was quite the conversationalist who would talk to anybody. Joe enjoyed his old cars and fishing and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan. His greatest joy in life came from being a doting husband, father and grandfather.

Joseph E. Newman was born on April 19, 1946, in Angola, Indiana, the son of Carlton C. and Lelamae (Kinnison) Newman. He married Mary Lou Snyder-Livensparger on June 19, 1998, in Lexington, Kentucky, and she survives.

Survivors also include one son, John (Heather) Newman, of Defiance; two stepsons, Tyler Livensparger, of Bryan, and Justin Livensparger, of Parker, Colorado; two grandsons, Owen and Wilson Newman; three granddaughters, Casandra Wade, and Elley and Signe Livensparger; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Newman, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and James Newman, and one sister, Jane Youse.

Memorials are requested to the First Baptist Church, the Bryan Fire Department or a charity of the donor’s choice.
