Joseph “Joe” Lee Hoff, of Edon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at CHP Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio.
Joe was employed as a machinist at Hause Machines, Montpelier, Ohio. He spent many years as a traveling machinist going to various factories to get their machinery repaired and back working.
Joe loved the water, fishing, riding his Harley and having the wind in his face, but most of all, time with his grandsons.
He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, a “jack of all trades” and loved tinkering with things.
Joseph Lee Hoff was born on September 22, 1971, in Monterey, California, the son of James Lee Hoff and Penny Sue (Cox) Penrod. He married Sheila Ann Jones on May 23, 2014 in Caruthersville, Missouri. Joe and Sheila had almost 25 years together.
Joe is also survived by his wife, Sheila Hoff, of Edon; sons, Dalton Hoff, of Edon, Ohio, Zachary Hoff of Homer, Michigan, Devin Webb of Hillsdale, Michigan and Tyler Simons of Coldwater, Michigan; three grandsons, Logan Webb, Declan Hoff and Rowen Simons; his mother, Penny S. Penrod, of Pittsford, Michigan; father, Jim Hoff, of California and brother, James Hoff, of Angola, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Arretta Houtz and uncles, Chris and Arthur Cox.
A celebration of life for Joe will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. with a remembrance service beginning at 11:30 at Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio.
