Juan Rodriguez “Casper” Barrera, age 67, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Juan was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served from 1978-1982. He worked at Titan Tire in utility/maintenance and retired after 33½ years of service.
He had worked at Martin Sprocket and Gear for 10 years prior to that. Juan was a member of the Bryan American Legion, VFW and AmVets Posts, the Bryan Eagles and was a retired member of the Dawgs MC.
He enjoyed playing pool, darts and chess, working in his yard, riding his Harley, his beloved dog, Trixie and above all else, spending time with his grandchildren.
Juan was born on Sept. 18, 1958, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Juan O. and Maria A. (Rodriguez) Barrera. He graduated from Edgerton High School in 1976. Juan married Pamela Sue Clark on Dec. 30, 1997, in Bryan and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Juan is survived by his daughter, Ruby (Christopher) Husted; sons, Johnny (Teresa) Stantz, Dave Mendez, Quinlan (Britt) Mendez and Benjamin Mendez; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Joshua Barrera; brother, Davey Barrera; sisters, Grace Hutchinson, Diolanda Barrera and Dora (George) Winzeler, and beloved dog, Trixie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Gabriel Mendez; grandson, Brady Taube; sisters, Olga Barrera and Rosie Zimmerman and niece, Rachel Altaffer.
Visitation for Juan will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Krill Funeral Home, 860 W. Mulberry, Bryan, Ohio. Military honors will be presented at noon with the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and the combined Bryan American Legion/VFW Honor Detail.
