June A. Keller (1937 – 2012)

June A. Keller, 74, died Thursday morning at her home in Montpelier after battling cancer for the past 24 years.  She was born on December 31st 1937 in Hillsdale County, Michigan to Orva “Bud” E. and Marcille J. (Shaffer) Carter.  June graduated from Kunkle High School in 1956 and soon after married her high school sweetheart Willis “Willie” H. Keller on April 5th 1957 in West Unity, Ohio.
June and husband Willie lived in Kunkle, until 1987 when they moved to Montpelier.  She was a homemaker for most of her life, but did work at several different businesses in the surrounding area throughout her life.  From 1970-1974, June owned and operated the Keller Home Store in Kunkle.  She also worked for Dr. Cromwell in West Unity as a receptionist for approximately 14 years until her diagnosis of cancer in 1988.

She was a member of both the Montpelier Moose and Eagles.

June is survived by her mother Marcille Carter of Montpelier, husband Willie of Montpelier, a son Todd (Suzonne)  Keller of Montpelier, a daughter Kristine (Don) Kosier of Montpelier, five grandsons Cpt. Brandon (Heather) Keller, Keith Happ, Jacob Keller, Kevin Happ and Kaleb Keller, a great grandson Leo Keller, three sisters Janet (Bob) Huffman of Pioneer, Phyllis (Dave) Weber of Pioneer, Nancy McKelvey of Montpelier, two brothers Charles (Kaye) Carter of Lebanon, Missouri, and Paul Carter of Bryan.

She is preceded in death by her father and a brother Carl Carter.

A time to receive friends will be on Sunday, December 16th from 1-5pm at the Thompson Funeral Home at 204 East Main Street in Montpelier.  A memorial service will be on Monday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wilder to officiate.  Donations may be made to Cancer Assistance of Williams County or the Hospital Hospice.  Condolences may be sent online to thethompsonfuneralhome.com
