June Avon Barton Rupp, of Archbold, Ohio went to meet her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She died peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by loved ones.

June was born April 19, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Julian B. Barton and Viola (Wagoner) Barton. She graduated from Whitmer High School, and on September 11, 1948 she married Ralph L. Rupp of Archbold, Ohio.  They shared 60 years together.

She was a member of Archbold Evangelical Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, often having her class overnight in her home. This home was the gathering place for the children of the neighborhood as well as her children’s friends.

A homemaker until her last child entered school, she then worked for Brookview Farm of Archbold, and later she worked at Sauder Village as a spinner for 30 years. She also volunteered at Care and Share in Archbold for 34 years and many other places as well.

She started the Overcomers Outreach program at Fresh Start in Alvordton, Ohio, later being helped by her husband and sister-in-law.

Gardening, reading God’s Word, arts and crafts, needle work, sewing, and especially her grandchildren are many of the things that she enjoyed.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a son Randy Lee, brother Ted Barton, sister Jean Barton Denman, brother-in-law Bill Denman, sisters-in-law Kathryn Barton and Virginia Barton, niece Denise Hilton,.

Surviving are special friend Neal Ziegler, sons Jack (Ginna) Rupp of Marcellus, Michigan and Terry (Kim) Rupp of Camden, Michigan; daughters Alana (David) Newcomer of Bryan, Ohio and Shelley (David) Sysum of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, and brother Jack (Iris) Barton.

There will be no visitation since she donated her body to the Anatomical Donation Program of the College of Medicine, University of Toledo, so that others may learn from her.

Memorials can go to Miracle Camp, Fairlawn Haven or Sauder Village.

Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.
