Keith Clyde Anderson WEBKeith Clyde Anderson, 75, of Pettisville passed away March 21, 2015 at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a short battle with leukemia. Keith was born in Marion, Ohio on November 9,  1939 to Kenyon and Willelah Anderson. He was a graduate of the University of Toledo and received his master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University.

A long time resident of Pettisville, Keith was a lifelong educator, teaching History and Government for over 30 years, the last 20 of those at Pike Delta York High School.  Keith established a mutual respect with his students, creating relationships that lasted years after his retirement.

His passion for teaching was not confined to the classroom.   He had a 39 year career coaching high school football, basketball, and track.  Keith also enjoyed officiating and umpiring even after he retired from teaching.

Keith was an avid reader and history buff.  He enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren and following his favorite sports teams, the Detroit Tigers and Oho State Buckeyes. He was a thoughtful, quiet, easygoing and loving husband, father and friend.

Keith is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann, son Kevin (Shelley) of Peoria, Il, daughters Lesley (Larry) of Lancaster, KY, and Megan (Craig) of Atlanta, GA, brother Jim (Sandy) of Clyde, OH,  five nephews, eight grandchildren, and his beloved dog and cat.

He is preceded in death by his father Kenyon and his mother Willelah.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 at the First Universalist Church of Lyons, Ohio with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. and a service and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Keith’s memory to the animal rescue of your choice or The First Universalist Church of Lyons, Ohio. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Anderson was my teacher in Government… I learned so much in his class… He knew his history… I just saw him at the gas station a couple weeks ago and said hi and he remembered me …. Wish I would have given him a hug….My thoughts are with the family.. He was a great guy.
