Kent E. Becker (1954-2014)

OBIT - BECKERKent E. Becker, 59, of Pioneer passed away early Tuesday morning at the University of Michigan Mott Health Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was born on November 25, 1954 in Bryan, Ohio to Karl and Delora (Rothbart) Becker. Kent graduated from North Central High School in 1973, and then earned his associates degree in Retail Management from the University of Toledo – Scott Park. On November 21, 1998 he married Alexis “Lexy” Henry, and she survives.

Kent was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montpelier. He was a former trustee and elder for the church, and also served as the treasurer for the Men’s Group. He was a member of the Montpelier Moose. Kent retired in 2011 from Phillips Van Heusen at the Fremont Outlet Mall as an assistant store manager after 18 years. Prior to that he was involved in clothing sales at the former Hadley’s and Dancers in Pioneer.

He is survived by his wife Lexie; two brot hers Robert (Joan) Becker of Pioneer and Dale (Judy) Becker of Wauseon; one sister Carol (Stan) Smith of Waldron, Michigan; several loving nieces and nephews.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew Stan Becker in 2012.

Visitation for Kent will be on Friday February 7th from 2-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. Services will be on Saturday at 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montpelier with Pastor Paul Gruetter to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Donations may be made to Williams County Cancer Assistance or St. John’s Men’s Group. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
