Lady Blackbirds Battle Back Against Wauseon

August 25th-PETTISVILLE: With their backs against the wall, the girls of Pettisville fought hard, overcoming an early deficit to beat Wauseon in four games.

Early in the match, the Lady Indians were in control with a strong game 1 victory, 25-15. The Lady Blackbirds rose to meet the challenge, however, reversing that score in game 2, 25-15 in their favor. The third set saw Pettisville remain in command, taking the third set 25-18. Wauseon gave it their all, but was unable to come back, dropping the final set 19-25 for the Pettisville win.

Dana Fricke had a monstrous day for the Blackbirds, nailing 14 kills to go along with her 7 digs and 3 blocks. Teammate Jordyn Pursel had 10 kills, 12 digs, and an ace. Kate Kauffman set things up for Pettisville, making 20 assists in addition to her 14 digs, 2 kills, and 1 ace. Carley Bontrager served 10 assists to her teammates.

For Wauseon, Kallie Strauss had 4 kills and 7 blocks in the losing effort. Amy Bosell hit 4 kills and made 2 blocks. Sariah Yackee added 21 digs. Morgan Bonzi served up 4 aces while hitting 19/20 serves. Hayley Chamberlain led the team in assists with 9, also putting down 3 blocks.
