DELTA– The Lady Cadets hit the road on Saturday April 12 for a non-conference match up with the Lady Panthers of Delta, capturing the first game by the score of 10-5, but falling in game 2 by a slim margin 4-3. On the season, the Lady Cadets move to 4-5, and remain at 2-0 in the BBC.

Bailey Funkhouser toed the rubber in the first game for 5 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits and advancing 4 by walk, while recording 2 strike outs. Hannah Bleikamp received credit for the win, going a strong 3 innings allowing only three hits and allowing no runs. Bleikamp fanned 4 batters while giving up only 3 walks.
Offensively for the Lady Cadets, Brooke Chapin went 3 for 5 at the plate with 1 RBI; Sydney Schmitt went 3 for 4 in the game, registering a double and credited with an RBI, Brittany Mocherman powered Hilltop with 4 RBI’s in the game off of 2 hits and teammate JeAnn Joost drove in 2 runs off of a 2 for 5 performance. Bleikamp and Allie Schmitt also recorded hits in the victory.

Jessica Suboski went the distance in game 2, giving up 11 hits and allowing just 2 earned runs in the 4-3 loss.
Hannah Bleikamp brought her power to the plate, going 3 for 4 on the game, including a solo shot over the fence in the 5th inning. LeAnn Joost went 2 for 4 on the game at the plate. Sydney Schmitt, Adreyn Yates, and Brooke Chapin recorded singles, while Shayla Coffman connected for a double in the loss.
