Lady Hilltop Cadets Sweep Twinbill Over Wauseon Indians

WAUSEON – Hilltop’s Tiffany Weaver’s seventh inning grand slam keyed a seven run rally that erased a Wauseon 5-4 lead in game one and LeAnn Joost’s three RBI’s in game two paced Hilltop to a doubleheader sweep of the Lady Indians in non-league action on Saturday April 6th.

Game #1

Hilltop battled with the Lady Indians in a see-saw affair that the lead exchanged twice before the Lady Cadets erupted for seven runs in the top of the seventh.  Weaver belted out three hits for Hilltop, including her big seventh inning home run, and drove in five runs.  Shayla Coffman added a double in her two hits and four RBI’s on the game.  Hannah Bliekamp and Brittany Mocherman each ripped a double for the Lady Cadets.
Leah Thompson went the distance to get the win for Hilltop.  Thompson struck out three and walked just one Wauseon batter.

Game #2


Hilltop jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead off Lady Indian starter Abbey Schroeder and Kacie Hodson held Wauseon at bay the rest of the way to spark the Lady Cadets 4-3 in the second game.  Bliekamp led the Lady Cadet attack with two hits to compliment Joost’s three RBI performance.
Hodson went the distance for Hilltop to get the win.
