Larry Joe Mick, 87, of Montpelier passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at his home.

He was born on July 7, 1937 in Montpelier to Seldon L. and Imo LuLu (Gaskill) Mick.

He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1955. On November 23, 1979 he married Mary Lou Wilson and she preceded him in death.


Larry worked in the printing industry for 45 years. He stared out at the Leader Enterprise in Montpelier, the went to the ARO Corp Printing Room in Bryan and finished at Quality Graphics in Archbold. He loved watching Ohio State football and the Detroit Tigers baseball games. Larry had no greater passion than being a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather.

He enjoyed fishing and putting together models of all kinds, particularly classic cars which he displayed in glass shelves. His cat Nila and dog Max also held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his children Janet (Billy) Fox of Sedalia, Kentucky, Roxanne (Jim) Crisp of Toledo, Rhonda (Edward) Watkins of Bryan and Randy Robinson of Fayette, Ohio; grandchildren Casey (Dustin Kinner) Johnson, Gavin Liechty, Sheena (Richard) Barr, Andy (Melissa) Crisp, Adam (Meredith) Crisp, Johnathan (Sherrie) Lett, and James Lett; eleven great grandchildren; and brother Tommy (Susan) Mick of Montpelier.


He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Lou, daughter Carol Balser, seven brothers Lester, Charles, James, Harold, Louis, Roger and Richard Mick, five sisters Dora Jane Hepker, Janette Lamb, Shirley McGee, Dolly Mae Crist and Joan Gordon.

Visitation for Larry will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 4-7 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will be on Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with his grandson Gavin Liechty to officiate. Interment will follow at Tedrow Cemetery in Wauseon.

Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
