(Lifetime Member Of Bryan Eagles)

Larry G. Thimlar, 79 of Montpelier passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Park View Care Center in Edgerton.

He was born on September 8, 1945 to Howard N. and Doris M. (McKinley) Thimlar. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Edgerton High School. On July 10, 1992 in Blakeslee, Ohio he married Judy Dunbar and she survives.

Larry retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad in 2001 after 29 years as a foreman. He would often say the railroad was the best job that he ever had. Larry was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and loved watching the New York Yankees play.

He and Judy enjoyed gambling and going to casinos. Ever since a young age, Larry helped his father on the family farm. He was a member of the Montpelier Moose, a lifetime member of the Bryan Eagles, a Mason and a Shriner. Larry was also on the Butler, Indiana volunteer fire department for several years.

He is survived by his wife Judy of 32 years, children Charlene (Nick Hausbach) Moore of Waterloo, Indiana, Larry (Holly) Thimlar, Jr. of Petersburg, Tennessee, Jeff (Bonnie) Finney of Wauseon, and Janet Finney of Elkhart, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, Erica, Brianna, Alicia, Josh, Ariel, Kayla, Bailey, Cole, Zane, Jacob and Jesse; and ten great grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rosalie; and infant brother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.

Memorials may be made in Larry’s memory to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
