Lavonna “Kay” Rector (1952 – 2018)

Lovanna “Kay” Rector, 65, of Montpelier passed away Wednesday at Hillside Country Living in rural Bryan.  She was born on August 26, 1952 in Berea, Kentucky to Raymond and Clara G. (Redmon) Huff.  Family was a very important part of Kay’s life, she was a very kind person that made people around her feel important.

She is survived by her two sons, J. Brian (Heather Woodford) Rector of Montpelier and Jeff (Becky) Rector of Fayette, Ohio, four grandchildren, Abby, Charlotte, Khloe and Riley; her significant other Steven J. Krill of Bryan; sister Paula (Bob) Lachat of Dayton; brother Dennis (Sandy) Huff of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents and husband James A. Rector.

Visitation for Kay will be on Tuesday, January 30th from 1-5pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier.  Services will follow at 5pm at the funeral home with Reverend David Tilly to officiate.  Interment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Montpelier Athletic Boosters.  Condolences can be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
