Dannie I. Miller, age 84, of Wauseon, passed away at Fulton Manor in Wauseon Saturday morning, January 11, 2025.
He was born at home in Lyons, Ohio on August 16, 1940 to the late Willis E. Miller and Jennie (Reckner) Miller. Dannie graduated from Lyons High School in 1958 and on June 16, 1962 married Norma Habel.
From this marriage he and his wife were blessed with five children; Dan, Kirk, Spence, Angel and Charity. Dannie was a lifelong farmer, while also working in concrete and driving milk truck.
He was a proud member of Lyon Christian Church, honorary FFA member of Delta, Fulton County Farm Bureau and Fulton County Dairy Association where he served as a former board member.
Dannie enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including being a race car driver, bowling, softball and even attending milk shake stands.
He was a sports enthusiast and followed volleyball, NASCAR, Indy Car and supporting his beloved OSU Buckeyes and Detroit Tigers.
Dannie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Miller; children, Dan Miller, Kirk (Amy) Miller, Spence (Karen) Miller, Angel (Rob) Miller-Ell and Charity Miller Forneris; sister, Vonda (Carl) Pennington; grandchildren, Sam, Morgan, Dinah, Kelsey, Tyson, Hanna, Monica, Misty, Adrian, Ethan, Alexandra and Ashley; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie, Tony and Ed Miller and sisters, Ruth Mann and Ila Wyse.
Open visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Hwy 109 in Delta. A funeral service honoring Dannie’s life will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, with Pastor Heather Schimmel officiating. Interment will follow at Aetna Winameg Cemetery near Delta with a reception in Lyons at Friendship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to direct memorial contributions to either the Lyons Royalton EMS or Fire Department, 409 W. Morenci St., Lyons, Ohio 43533 or Lyons Christian Church, 138 East Morenci St., Lyons, Ohio 43533 in Dannie’s memory.
