(Swanton Resident)

Lois Mae (Weber) Case, of Swanton, went home to Jesus on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Community Health Professional Hospice Center in Defiance.

We will miss her here but are confident in the promise of resurrection and eternal life. Lois was born May 8, 1930 to the late Joseph Anthony and Ameila (Loew) Weber in Toledo, Ohio.

She attended Arlington Avenue Lutheran Church and graduated from Libbey High School in 1948. Early on she served as the Church’s organist and taught Sunday School.

She and William A. Case were married June 16, 1951, spending 43 years together until his passing on November 8, 1994.

Lois majored in business throughout high school and began her career right after. Initially she was employed by the Landers Corporation as an account’s bookkeeper, and thereafter as a secretary with Maumee Valley Hospital’s School of Nursing, finally for 30 years ending her career with the Toledo Public Schools. Lois would retire at the age of 70 as the secretary of Marshall Elementary School.

Lois was well respected by the staff and community at Marshall, the principal even asking her not to retire; nevertheless, when she did a group of teachers picked her up in a limo for a night on the town.

Lois and Bill would relocate to Fulton County in 1985 and found a new church home at St. Luke Lutheran Church where they continued their walk with faith, making cherished friendships with the Pastors and congregates.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Jay Case and brother, James Weber.

She is survived by her son, Tom (Chutima) Case; daughter-in-law Judy Case, grandchildren Bill Case and Kimberly (Jesse) Davis, great grandchildren Grace and Claire Davis, and many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church 1588 St Hwy 108, Wauseon, OH 43567 in Lois’ memory.

Friends and family will be received at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy 109 in Delta, on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM; with a funeral service for Lois beginning at 11:00 AM on Monday and graveside committal service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 West Central Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43606.

Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
