Lona Davis (1951 – 2024)

Lona J. Davis, age 73, of Edgerton passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 holding the hand of her true love, husband and best friend at CHP Inpatient Hospice Center near Defiance.

Lona worked for many years at Stark Truss prior to her retirement. She loved the Lord and was a long time member of Restoration Fellowship in Williams Center.

One of her favorite things to do was shop. She and her daughter would shop on Black Friday from before dawn to dusk and 12 hour shopping days were not uncommon for them.

Lona enjoyed time with her husband, watching Westerns in the evening together and visiting family and friends. Most importantly was time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She became a grandma to all of them. Lona was a person , whom after meeting her one time, you knew you were part of her family, she loved you, she told you she loved you and from that day forward, she meant it.

Lona was born on February 20, 1951 in Wadsworth, Ohio, the daughter of James D. and Clotene (Ellis) Kelley, Sr. She attended Bryan High School.

On June 21, 1969, she married the love of her life, Burchel Davis, in Bryan and he survives. They had 55 loving years together.

Lona is also survived by her daughter, Tina Ruggles, of Defiance; son, Burchel Davis, Jr., of Mark Center; grandchildren, Lindsay Ruggles, of Paulding, Cody Davis, of Mark Center, Nikki Michelson, of Hicksville, Devin Ruggles, of Bryan and Katie Brandt, of Edon; four great grandchildren, Raelynn, Willie, Maelee and Everlee; and sisters, Darline Bock, of Effingham, Illinois, Donna Davis and Glenda Roehrs, both of Edgerton and Erma Osmun, of Stryker. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jimmy Kelley and Larry Kelley.

Visitation for Lona will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio.
