Louise E. Buerk

Louise E. BuerkLouise E. Buerk, 96, of Pioneer passed away Sunday afternoon at Hillside Country Living in rural Bryan. She was born on April 24, 1919 in Waterville, Ohio to James L. and Laura A. (Sterner) Fike. Louise graduated from Whitmer High School in 1938. She married Howard E. Buerk and he preceded her in death in February 1995.

Louise was a member, a former Treasurer and Sunday school teacher for the Pioneer United Methodist Church. She retired in 2002 as the bookkeeper of the Pioneer Lumber Company, after 43 years of service.

She is survived by two sons, James (Lee) Buerk of Ottawa Hills, Ohio and Donald H. Buerk of Alvordton; one daughter Carole (Gilbert) Cramer of Bryan; two grandchildren Carmen and Mark Cramer, two step-grandchildren Scott and Jim Cooper, five step-great grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard and one brother, Harold Fike.

Visitation for Louise will be on Wednesday, February 3rd from 11am-12noon at the Pioneer United Methodist Church in Pioneer. Services will follow the visitation at 12 noon at the church with Pastor Jesse Blevins to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.


Memorial contributions may be given to the Pioneer United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be left for the family atwww.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
