Lowell W. McGowan

Lowell W. McGowanLowell W. McGowan, age 81, of Bryan and Montpelier areas, passed away Sunday morning, December 6, 2015 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Prior to his retirement in 2009, he had worked at the Aro Corporation in Bryan for many years.

Lowell was born in Fulton County, Ohio on March 25, 1934, the son of Charles and Eva (Rupp) McGowan. On January 3, 1952 he married Anna Clark, and she preceded him in death in 2005. On May 2, 2009 he married Gladys Altaffer, and she survives.

Also surviving is his son, William (Craig) McGowan of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; two grandchildren, Andy (Darlene) Doriot of West Unity, Nick (Kelly) Doriot of SC; six great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Lucy (Terry) Ekberg of CO; and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, both parents, son Charles McGowan, and daughter, Mary Doriot.

Visitation for Lowell will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, also in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Shiffler Cemetery, near Bryan.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Lung Association or the University of Toledo Medical Center. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
