Loyal B. Sines

loyal-b-sinesLoyal B. Sines, 82 years, of Stryker, passed away early Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Community Health Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance. Loyal was born May 21, 1934 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Earl F. and Lylla (Brock) Sines. He married Dorothy C. Roan on November 7, 1954 in Bryan, Ohio.

Loyal served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Wabash Railroad, Hollibird Corporation and Ohio Art in electrical maintenance for 25 years. He retired from Community Hospitals and Wellness Center, Bryan in 1996 where he worked for 19 years as a maintenance supervisor. In his free time, Loyal enjoyed gardening, traveling, and woodworking.

Surviving is his wife, Dorothy of Stryker; three children, Jonell Walker of Nettle Lake, Lisa (Kevin) Maassel of Defiance and Joe Sines of Melbern; eight grandchildren, Josh (Tiffany) Bauer, Jesse Sims, Katie Maassel (Fiance Trevor Reed), Kyle Maassel, Alex Sines, Luke Sines, Brent Sines, and Heidi Sines, and five great-grandchildren. Loyal was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Scott Walker; two brothers, Reuben Sines and Denzel Sines, and one sister, Bernadine “Bunny” Hill.

Visitation for Loyal Sines will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral services for Loyal will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Dick Buchsteiner officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites performed by Bryan VFW Post 2489.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Williams County Humane Society, 09464 County Road 13, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
