The Lyons Village Council held their meeting on Monday, October 2nd. The meeting began at 6:59 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council first approved minutes from the previous meetings held in August and September before then approved the reading of the bills as well as finance reports for August.

Council then stated the village received their mower back after it was sent in to be fixed and that the dump truck finally came in.

Next, council agreed to do a sealed bid on one of their dump trucks that comes with a plow and salt spreader.

New striping is needed on Adrian Street as the paint is very worn off on parking spots to which council agreed to do at the cost of $590. Council then discussed speed data from the electronic speed signs around town.

Next came a committee report with which there was nothing to report regarding Dollar General. The village also got the news that they did not receive the OPWC or the CBDG grant.

Then, council stated that the village has started an appropriation wants and needs list for next year.

Council next discussed the incident with ODOT last month where ODOT had an equipment malfunction and killed grass on approximately six different properties.

Next, council moved to approve several items including, local government money which was $26,147.14 in taxes, indigent funds, and to keep Kevin Whitlock as the village solicitor.

The village Christmas tree lighting will be held on November 26th along with a Christmas parade on December 9th. The next meeting will be on November 6th at 7:00 p.m.

The sheriff’s report was then given, which consisted of 33.5 hours for the month of August with five complaints.

With no other items left to discuss on the agenda, the meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
