Marilyn Kammeyer (1940 – 2025)

Marilyn Joan Kammeyer, age 84, of Archbold, passed away on January 10, 2025, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Marilyn spent her life caring for her family and her home.

Marilyn was born on September 14, 1940, to the late Paul and Florence (Kutzli) Leininger.

She was a graduate of Ridgeville High School in 1958. She married Larry Kammeyer on June 15, 1963, and had two sons, Larry (Dalene) Kammeyer II, and Brian Kammeyer, and a daughter, Lynne (Kevin) Eicher.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, David (Kristina) Eicher, Michael (Jennifer) Eicher, Teresa (Michael) Eicher, Nick (Michelle) Kammeyer, Steven (John) Kammeyer, Luke Kammeyer, Ashton Kammeyer, and Eleena Kammeyer; and great-grandchildren, Shane, Aubrey, Grady, Leo, Maize, Spencer, Graham, Brooks, and Caston. She is also survived by her sister, Carol (Charles) Bender; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Billye Leininger; and brother, Russell Leininger.

Marilyn was a homemaker and loved to bake and spend time in her garden. She and Larry were members of the St. James Lutheran Church in Burlington.

Visitation for Marilyn will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 3pm to 6pm, at the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold. A memorial service will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the St. John Lutheran Church (Corner of 6 and 66), at 10am, with Rev. James Strawn officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Archbold Fire Department or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.

The Grisier Funeral Home of Archbold is honored to serve the Kammeyer family.
