Marlene J. Logan, 90, of West Unity, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Hillside Country Living, Bryan, Ohio.

Marlene was born August 27, 1934, daughter of the late Charles and Elnora (Moser) Hall.

She graduated from West Unity High School. Marlene married Ronald G. Logan on November 7, 1953, in West Unity, and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1995.


She was a talented seamstress, working for Russell’s Men’s Wear and then Bryan Fabric Center. Marlene was a member of the West Unity United Methodist Church and the Kunkle Presbyterian Church, where she served as the choir director.

Music was an important part of Marlene’s life; she started singing at church at just three years old. She also served as director for the Sweet Adeline’s and Top of Ohio Chorus, and then sang with numerous local groups, including the Little River Chorus, Four Town Sound Quartet and Spare Parts Quartet.

Surviving are her three children, Joe Logan of West Unity, Ohio, Laura (George) Allion of West Unity, and Dan (Suzette) Logan of Wyandotte, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Sandy Logan of Surprise, Arizona; five grandchildren, Adam (Stephanie) Logan, Amy Waterston, Amanda (Charles) Fockler, Timothy (Abigail) Allion, and Spencer (Lacy) Allion; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald; a son, Jon Logan; a brother, Roger Hall; and two sisters, Sandra Grime and Diane Borton.

Visitation for Marlene J. Logan will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at the West Unity United Methodist Church, 311 North Liberty Street, West Unity, Ohio 43570. A Memorial Service will immediately follow in the church beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jeff Ridenour officiating. Private burial will take place in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the West Unity United Methodist Church, or to the Activities Fund for Anna’s House at Hillside County Living.
