Martha Hochstetler (1958-2021)

Martha Ann Hochstetler of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away Sunday February 7, 2021. Martha Ann was born on March 21, 1958 in Hudson, MI to the late Henry and Eleanor  (Borck) Carr.

Martha Ann loved to cook, bake and sew. She also loved to sing. Martha Ann graduated from Pettisville High School in 1976. Her biggest joy was her family and she loved her grandchildren, Curtis (deceased) and Collin.

Martha Ann is survived by her daughter, Nicole Porter; son, Levi; grandson; Collin. She is also survived by her sister; Mary (Bob) Clark; brothers; Richard (Sue), Charles (Patricia), Douglas, Anthony (Debra) and Henry Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Eleanor Carr; sister, Barbara Belman; grandson, Curtis Yerrick.

Per Martha’s wishes,  cremation has taken place and family and friends are invited to her services in Winameg Cemetery Saturday, February 20, 2021.  Martha Ann will be buried next to her parents, in Winameg Cemetery, Winameg, Ohio.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the benevolence of the family. Online condolences or a favorite memory may be offered to the family at carr300.cc@gmail.com.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
