(Member Of Wauseon’s Trinity Lutheran Church)
Martha Anne “Marty” Ross, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away March 24, 2026. Marty was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Sherwood, Ohio, to the late William and Emma (Buhrow) Baden.
Upon graduation from BGSU, she was employed as the Home Economics teacher in Wauseon. There, she met her future husband, Dr. Jack Ross, who had recently returned from service duty with the US Army Dental Corps in Europe.
Jack was filling in for a local dentist, and Marty met him as a patient in the dental chair. She’d recall, laughing, her thoughts at the time … “I could marry that guy!” A year later, she did! Marty and Jack were approaching their 60th Anniversary when he preceded her in death.
Marty was a master homemaker! Sewing, quilting, crafting, and she kept her house in order! She was an active member and leader at Trinity Lutheran Church. She and Jack traveled the world chasing birds, 92 countries for Marty.
When they weren’t traveling, they played duplicate bridge and spent time in Columbus — Buckeye football games and visits with their daughters and grandkids. They loved attending their grandsons’ many sporting events and spending time with them.
Martha is survived by her children, Gwen and Kristi, of Columbus, Ohio, and Dr. Eric Ross, of Crystal River, Fla.; grandsons Max (Amanda) Minnillo of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Jack (Delainie) Minnillo of Plain City, Ohio, and Alex Minnillo, of Gypsum, CO; and great-grandchildren, Camden and Sienna Minnillo, of Plain City.
Preceding her in death were her two youngest daughters, a baby girl, and Elizabeth Ann “Buffy” Ross.
Special thanks to those who helped her enjoy life in her home. Stacy, Aimee, Kyleigh, friends at Trinity, and especially, Kelly. She enjoyed you all!
