Mary A. Crist, age 94, of Bryan, Ohio and long time resident of Edon, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, March 11, 2023, at Bryan Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Mary worked as a nanny at for the Eckert family that owned Dinner Bell Foods.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Edon and was a long time member of the Mary and Martha Circle.
Mary was a fan of Country-Western music and enjoyed taking casino bus trips with her sister.
Mary was born on December 29, 1928, in Noble Township, Ney, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph Leo and Ruth Margaret (Kleinhenn) Delarber.
Mary was a graduate of Sherwood-Delaware High School and attended Griffith College. She married Robert W. Crist on June 4, 1955 in the St. John Lutheran Church parsonage in Defiance and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2000.
Mary is survived by her sons, Robert (Cynthia) Crist, Richard (Ina) Crist and Larry (Susan) Crist, all of Bryan; daughter, Mary Kay (Jeff) Thompson, of Roanoke, Indiana; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild on the way; brother, Lawrence Delarber, of Troy, Ohio and sister, Frances Mack, of Defiance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Paul, Robert, Daniel Delarber and sisters, Ruth Delarber, Virginia Wilhelm, Anna Cavanaugh, Gertrude Hoschak and Madonna Robbins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 P.M. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in a private burial at Edon Cemetery.
