Mary J. Martin, age 76, of Bryan, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and their St. Ann’s Circle. She was an instructor at the Bryan YMCA in the Silver Sneakers program. Mary enjoyed reading, crafts and scrap booking.  Most of all, she loved doting on her grandchildren.

Mary was born on December 7, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Rogelio “Roy” H. Roel and Paula Perez. She married Clayton H. Martin on July 17, 1989 in Bryan and he survives.

Mary is also survived by her daughters, Michelle Leitch, of Bryan and Jennifer (Gary) Cobb, of Oswego, Illinois; stepdaughter, Tanya (Bill) Mort, of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer Leitch, Evan Rosalez Cobb, Chaz Cobb and William Muhlstadt; siblings, Yolanda Roel, of Bryan, Frank Ordaz, of Miller City, Daniel (Viola) Ordaz, of Holgate, Robert (Janie) Ordaz, of Weslaco, Texas, Mary Grace (Vince) Schroeder, of Leipsic, Frances (Dennis) Hashbarger, of Glandorf, John Ordaz, of Columbus and Paula (Bruce) Kreinbrink, of Beaver Creek and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Roel; mother and stepfather, Paula and Frank Ordaz and a grandson, Anthony Muhlstadt.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Andrew Wellmann officiating. Mary’s arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.


The family requests memorial donations be directed to Community Health Professionals Hospice or Cancer Assistance for Williams County.
