After his retirement he, with his wife, enjoyed spending winters at Ruskin, FL.  During WWII, from 1942 – 1946, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp.  He enjoyed spending time with the grandkids.  He was a member of St. John’s Christian Church in Archbold, and a life member of the Archbold American Legion B.L.W. Post 311, and the International Union of Operating Engineers.

He is survived by three daughters, Shiela (Kent) Short and Shari Lauber, both of Wauseon, and Susan (Brad) Enderle of Archbold; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter (Vera) Schmucker, two sisters, Anna Rose Fuentes and Carol Jean (Virgil) Eddy; and a sister-in-law, Velma Overmier. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four sisters, Virgie Wyse, Nellie Wyse, Bessie King and Mary Beck.

Services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Christian Church with Pastors Erich Christman and Alex Young officiating.  Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion B.L.W. Post 311.  Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel from 3 – 8 PM on Thursday.

Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted the arrangements. The family suggests that memorials be given to St. John’s Christian Church.
