METAMORA — The Metamora Chamber of Commerce has launched a redesigned website and is preparing for a packed spring calendar that includes a membership meeting featuring speakers from the Toledo Port Authority.
The chamber’s spring meeting is set for Wednesday, April 15 at 5 p.m. at the Evergreen Community Library. Dinner will be provided by the Country Charm, with a $10 fee collected at the door. RSVPs can be made by email or through the chamber’s website.
Guest speakers Dana Clark, Jason Bartschy and Craig Teamer from the Toledo Port Authority will discuss grants and zero-interest loans available to small businesses and other entities looking to make energy-efficient improvements.
The chamber also announced the launch of its redesigned website at www.metamorachamberofcommerce.com, which now features upcoming meetings and minutes, event listings, chamber projects, a member business directory and RSVP capabilities for membership meetings.
A chamber text message program is also being promoted, allowing members to receive meeting and event reminders, membership renewal notices and board announcements. Opt-in reminders will be sent again in April.
STUDENTS AWARDS PROGRAM WRAPPING UP
The chamber’s Student Awards program is nearing the end of another year, with more than 50 students participating in 14 community events during the 2025-2026 cycle.
The final volunteer opportunity will be the chamber’s annual Spring Clean-up on May 2 at 9 a.m. at Metamora Community Park.
Award winners will be drawn and recognized at the Evergreen Senior Awards Banquet on May 7.
The 2026-2027 program year will kick off at Party in the Park. A planning meeting for that event is scheduled for April 8 at 6 p.m. at Jeff Truckor’s home.
NEW SALON OPENING IN METAMORA
The Wagon Wheel Barber, Nail & Style Salon at 239 Maple Street in Metamora is set to open this April.
The shop describes itself as a rustic-inspired space offering haircuts, colors, highlights, keratin treatments, special occasion styling, facial waxing, hot towel shaves, and specialty manicures and pedicures. A complimentary coffee bar will be available for clients.
