With the high school sports season underway, North Central High School finds itself in an unusual situation following the resignation of athletic director Michael Babin.

According to North Central High School principal, Martha Hasselbusch, Babin has already resigned, and thus the school has begun accepting applications for the position.

“We have already received quite a few applications for the position,” said Hasselbusch. “There are a number of highly qualified persons who have already shown interest.”

The timetable to hire a new athletic director will begin shortly, according to Hasselbusch. A committee has been formed and will begin the interview process soon.

“We just want what is best for North Central schools and the Eagles community,” pointed out Hasselbusch. “Hopefully, our mission and vision will support both academics and athletics for the right fit in the position.”

North Central is the second Buckeye Border Conference school to seek a new athletic director this fall. Holgate is also searching for a new athletic administrator.
