Mildred “Millie” Robinson, 75, died Tuesday morning, December 16, 2014, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by the love and comforts of her family. She was born December 15, 1939, in Campton, KY, to the late Trulan and Josie (Hatton) Harris. She married Claude “Buddy” Robinson on October 21, 1966, in Alvordton, OH, and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2006.
Millie grew up in Kentucky, and graduated from Wolf County High School. She settled in Fayette in 1962, and worked over 30 years at ConAgra in Archbold, OH, until her retirement. Millie enjoyed flowers, gardening, and watching birds. She also was fond of cooking, and was well-known for her famous biscuits and gravy. Millie deeply loved her family and grandchildren, and her beloved canine companion, Daisy.
Surviving Millie are two sons, Stanley Taulbee of Waldron, MI, and Tony (Angel) Robinson of Wauseon, OH; her daughter, Sandra (Eric) Saaf of Fayette; two brothers, Stanley Wilford (Rachel) Harris of KY, and Wendell (Jenny) Harris of KY; two sisters, Betty Amerine of KY, and Shirley Smith of Wauseon; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Joel) Valentine, Doug Froelich, Tori, Tara, and Damon Lichtenwald, Kyleigh, Payton, and Jensyn Robinson; a great-grandson, Chase Valentine; several nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Beth Baum of Fayette.
In addition to her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Derb, and Joe Harris.
A funeral service for Millie will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette with Pastor Kathy Currier officiating. Cremation will follow the service and interment will take place at a later date in the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday evening, from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in honor of Millie to the Gorham-Fayette Fire Department.
