Montpelier Bounces Hilltop From ACME Sectionals Behind Shoup 3-Hitter

BRYAN: June 30 – Jared Shoup tossed a three-hit shutout to lead the Montpelier ACME squad to a 3-0 win over Hilltop in ACME Sectional play.
Shoup passed four and fanned five in the complete game win. Cody Caudill continued his torrid hitting with a double, while Andrew Luke smacked an RBI base hit. Shoup, Colin Rockey and Bryce Cooley each had a single for the Locos.
Jalen Towers took the hard luck loss for the Cadets, who are now eliminated from the tournament. Towers went the route, allowing three runs, one earned on five hits, walking five and whiffing five. Tyler Suboski had a double for Hilltop, with Colin Sabins and Cole Haynes each getting aboard with a single.
