Montpelier 27 Hilltop 8

MONTPELIER-Gavin Wurm rushed for 232 yards on 35 carries and had three touchdowns to lead the Locos to their first win of the season. Wurm started the scoring for Montpelier with a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give Montpelier a 7-0 lead. The Locos built their lead to 14-0 at halftime after a four-yard scoring run by Jacob Lamontagne.

After a scoreless third quarter Wurm added scoring runs of 3 and 21 yards to stretch the Montpelier lead to 27-0. Hilltop’s lone score of the night came on a 25-yard run by Griffin McEwen. Hilltop quarterback Connor Schlosser went 7/16 passing for 51 yards and Dalton Bauer led the Hilltop running attack with 52 yards on one carry.
