The Montpelier Park Board met on march 3, 2022. The meeting was called to order and Scott Gordon gave the first report. He advised the Board about the upcoming Spring Pony League.

This year the league has sixteen games scheduled and thirteen kids registered thus far. They are set to start May 17, 2022.

Next up, Erick Trout and Greg Knestrick from Peterman, out of Findlay, gave council options for their pool study. Knestrick and Trout advised the Board of previous pools they’ve helped with including, Napoleon’s city pool.

The associates provided pictures and plans to the Board, answering all questions they had during the discussion. The Board will continue to do a pool study until a decision is made. Next up, the Board approved the minutes from the previous meeting in February. They also approved the financial statement.

Next up, Nick Ramos, Park Supervisor, gave updates on the renovations of Storrer and Founders Park. He informed the Board of the new fencing being put up, 200 feet of fencing.

No final decision has been made on the fence. The updates to Founders Park, the Board advised are almost finished.

Next up, Sandy Gordon, advised the Board that concession stand prices have increased on product offerings because products are sparse.

Next up, Gordon advised the Board the she has been working with Williams County Soil and Water Conservation to come up with a plan for the riparian buffer planting along the Iron Horse River Trail.

Gordon advised the Board that flowers are going to be along the trail and grasses mainly being planted elsewhere.

Next up, Gordon asked for a motion to raise the soccer cost from $15 to $20 and to not offer free socks this year, motion was approved.

Gordon recommends a change to the lunch program this year, they will offer the traditional meals on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Also to send breakfast home with the kids, until it needs changed. Motion approved.

Gordon tells the Board she had a request from TruFast to rent the park out on July 14th and 15th for a company picnic. They asked to bring in food trucks, as well as use the volleyball court and pavilion.

Next up, the Board approved Christmas decorations for 2022. No additional business was discussed and the Board moved to close.
