MONTPELIER – After considering attending Kent State, Montpelier senior Hannah Sabatino made Trine University her choice to continue her cheerleading and academic career.
“I chose Trine because of the ability to feel like a person and not be overlooked. I also took into account the small class sizes and how I will be able to know my professors/ faculty members better!”
“I will also be able to know almost everyone in my classes, since the class sizes are small. It will feel like I’m at my home school Montpelier”, stated Sabatino, who has been part of the cheerleading program at Montpelier since the seventh grade.
“The recruiting process took a while to get set up and everything. I had reached out to Coach Christina and talked to her about being interested in cheering”, explained Sabatino when detailing the recruiting process.
“We then had shared many emails to get to know each other, since we were both busy. I had a date set to meet her in person, and I also met some of the team members at a football game.”
“I was able to watch them warmup before the game and get an idea of what my life would be like going forward, after joining.”
“A while later, I was able to go to a basketball game and talk to her there again. I was sitting right next to the cheerleaders and talked to Coach Christina about being recruited.”
“That was when I was trying to set up a date for the actual singing to take place, which wasn’t easy, since our schedules were both packed.”
Sabatino will be studying Psychology and Criminal Justice while at Trine with the goal being to become a Victim’s Advocate.
“I just want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way”, closed Sabatino.
