HILLTOP – The Hilltop Lady Cadets opened the 2012-13 hoops campaign with balance and bravado in The Bunker. Nine Ladies in Red lit up
the scoreboard, four in double digits as the hometown girls slapped a
70-49 pasting on Hicksville on November 24.
The Lady Cadets put the game away early, running out to a 21-11 lead after one period, and expanding the lead to 21 at the half. They racked up a 14-3 advantage in assists, hence the balance in scoring that Hicksville simply could not match.
Jackie Smith led Hilltop with 15 points, with Emily Armbruster adding 14, Hanna Bleikamp 11, and Sam Lillemon 10 points. Cierra Carpenter, LeAnn Joost and Destiny Denton each had 5 points, while Kelly Geis had 3 points and Kailey Creamer 2.
