FAYETTE – When Jalen Dancer led the North Central Eagles back from the abyss on January 3, it became quiet in Fayette. When Zayne Colegrove of Fayette hit a late free throw to tie the game at 42-42, the noise level became volcanic. It took overtime to settle this BBC roller coaster ride, an overtime period that saw Fayette pitch a 7-0 shutout to secure a 49-42 win.

Dancer hit on 10 of his game-high 19 points in an 18-13 North Central rally, but Colegrove cancelled out the one-point lead with his free throw. The hometown boys iced the game in OT with four free throws and a trifecta from Chandler Sanford.

Cole Burkholder led Fayette with 11 points, while Colegrove and Logan Franks each had 10, and Sanford 9. Patty Hookstadt finished with 4 points, Koby Biddix 3 and Tyler Cox 2.

Dancer carried the offensive weight for North Central, with Cam Cochran getting 8 points, Clayton Ferguson 6, Kole Peterson 3, and Josh Taylor, Brandon Geiser and Alex Lantz 2 points apiece.
