November 23rd High School Sports Wrap-Up

BOYS BOWLING

Patrick Henry 2422 Swanton 1599

Patrick Henry’s Kijano Hill had the high game with a 210 and finished with the high series of 386 to lead the Patriots to a win at Swanton. Seth Sweet topped Swanton with a 279 series (143+136) and Carson Santchi added a 252 (118+134) for the Bulldogs.

Bryan 1948 Delta 1889

Despite having three bowlers out due to quarantine the Golden Bears pulled out the win at Swanton Sports Center over Delta. Dominic Boothman rolled a 196 in game one on his way to a 364 series to lead the Bryan effort. Caleb Muhe was next for Bryan with a 321 (171+150) and Iestyn Siders chipped in with a 306 (159+147). Gabe Syverson had the high game for Delta with a 208 and Kaden Hawkins recorded a 178.


Liberty Center 2206 Evergreen 2176

Landon Amstutz led the charge for Liberty Center by firing a 418 series (225+193) as the Tigers started the season with a win at River City Bowl-A-Way over Evergreen. Ethan Shively of Evergreen tallied the high series in the match with a 431 (226+205) and David Fuller added a 376 (167+209).


GIRLS BOWLING

Swanton 2081 Patrick Henry 1779


Amy Lawson paced Swanton with games of 216 and 193 for a 409 series as the Lady Bulldogs opened the season with a win at home over Patrick Henry. Ivy Serres was next for Swanton with a 337 (167+170) and Gabriell Siege had a 325 (157+168).

Bryan 1833 Delta 1596

Gabriella Bany fired an opening game of 213 to lead the Lady Bears past Delta at Swanton Sports Center 1833-1596. Faith Harding had the high series for Bryan by registering a 343 (159+184). Ciarra Flickinger scored a 155 followed by a 152 for a 307 series to lead the Lady Panthers.

Liberty Center 2033 Evergreen 1746


Madison Amstutz had games of 196 and 152 for a 348 series as Liberty Center knocked off Evergreen in the first match of the season for both teams. Keigan Shuster led the Evergreen attack with a 266 series (142+124), Carly Kanneman had a 263 (124+139), and Kennedy Coolman added a 260 (122+138).


GIRLS BASKETBALL

Antwerp 36 Edon 30

Antwerp went 11/21 at the foul line while the Bombers were just 3/5 as Antwerp got by Edon 36-30 in a non-league matchup. Ashley Kaylor topped the scoring for Edon with 11 points.

Hilltop 44 Liberty Center 36

Trailing 18-17 at halftime, Hilltop broke open a close game by outscoring Liberty Center 13-4 in third quarter to pull away for the win. Leanna Baker led the Lady Cadets (1-0) with 12 points and Kodi Brenner added nine.
