METAMORA (April 28, 2025) – In a game Archbold absolutely needed to win, everything went right for the Bluestreaks and wrong for Evergreen.

The Streaks got their best on the mound from Zach Short who threw a two-hit shutout, and three Evergreen pitchers gave up 10 walks that Archbold turned into a pair of big innings in a 12-0 victory. Archbold and Evergreen are now tied atop the NWOAL at 4-1.

The Streak got to Viking starter Layne Vance in the second, scoring seven times. Tripp Langenderfer’s leadoff single, a wild pitch and Short’s squibber through the left side gave the Streaks the only run they really needed.

After an Ethan Bowman base hit, Anderson Bentley hit the hardest ball of the day, a double up the gap that plated two more runs.

A couple of walks around Collin Short’s bloop single, then Wyatt Cline’s bouncer that found a hole in the right side that scored a pair gave Archbold a big lead.

The Streaks got five more off Austin Burghardt and Zack Kruzel in the fifth with a foursome of walked hitters setting up RBI hits by Isaiahs Gracia and CJ Arroyo-Thompson to blow the game wide open. Langenderfer added a run-scoring single to pad the lead.

Zach Short gave up just two singles while striking out 10 on the day and walking two
