DEFIANCE (September 19, 2025) – Wauseon successfully defended its Northwest Ohio Athletic League boys golf title on Friday, September 19 at Auglaize Golf Club.

The Indians claimed their 15th NWOAL crown in program history tallying a 309 score edging out runner-up Archbold who finished with a 314.

Swanton was third with a 331 followed by Bryan (331), Evergreen (335), Delta (335), Liberty Center (363) and Patrick Henry (455).

Combined with the regular season dual and triangular match and tournament results, the Indians won the overall title with 14 points followed by Archbold (13), Swanton (12), Bryan (8), Delta (7), Evergreen (6), Liberty Center (3) and Patrick Henry (1).


Wauseon, Swanton and Archbold all posted 6-1 ledgers in the regular season followed by Delta (4-3), Bryan (3-4), Evergreen (2-5), Liberty Center (1-6) and Patrick Henry (0-7).

Archbold sophomore Grady Short captured individual medalist tournament honors with a 71. Also named to the all-league tournament first team were Lane Lopez of Delta (73), Griffen Valentine of Archbold (74), Carter Stuckey of Wauseon (75), Kai Dauber of Bryan (76), Jack Altstaetter of Wauseon (76) and Cayden Ruffer of Wauseon (76).

Second team honors went to Brody Wyckhouse of Liberty Center (77), C.J. Arroyo-Thompson of Archbold (78), Dylan Smigelski of Swanton (78), Chris Shrader of Evergreen (79), Keegan Clapp of Delta (80) and Hayden Timbrook of Evergreen (81).

Earning honorable mention honors were Jayden Deel of Bryan (82), Jake Farley of Evergreen (82), Gavin Fisher of Wauseon (82), Carson Reed of Swanton (83), Nolan Franzdorf of Bryan (84), Tony Caprella of Liberty Center (84) and Grady Tipton of Swanton (84).
