Montpelier residents now have a new destination for fitness with the grand opening of Off The Tracks Gym, which officially opened its doors this week.

With open house events held July 18 and 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., the gym is not only welcoming new members but also inviting the community to take part in something far greater than a typical workout space.

The gym’s name, Off The Tracks, is a nod to both its location and its mission: forging a new path. With discounted founding membership rates available through July 19, 2025, the facility has been generating significant buzz.

But it’s not just the deals drawing attention – it’s the spirit behind the project. Located at 318 West Main Street, Montpelier, it takes part in the booming small business joining the downtown area.

Founders of Off The Tracks Gym, Austin and MaryJoe Grubb, made it clear that this isn’t just another franchise or copy-paste gym model.

“What you’ll walk into isn’t your typical small-town cringey gym, and it sure isn’t some corporate cookie-cutter chain,” Austin comments.

“We built this for the people who believe small towns deserve more than the bare minimum. Montpelier, this is your movement!”

The gym’s interior and layout reflect this vision. From state-of-the-art equipment to carefully designed recovery spaces with a focus on atmosphere, every element was planned with intention.

“We’re not here to blend in. We’re here to raise the bar,” Grubb continues. “We can’t wait for you to feel it for yourself.” Inside the facility, visitors will find a wall-sized installation titled “Our Story,” which captures the heart of the project.

The message recalls how the founders discovered potential in a worn-down building and transformed it into a space rooted in strength. Not just the kind measured in reps or resistance, but the kind that rebuilds communities.

“It’s raw. It’s honest. It’s ours,” the plaque reads. “We didn’t follow a blueprint. We laid our own tracks.”

Off The Tracks Gym is already proving to be more than a fitness center; it’s a symbol of local pride and resilience. As the gym’s message boldly proclaims: “We’re not just a gym. We’re a movement.”
