Edgerton School Board Accepts Donation Of $15,000 From The State Bank

The Edgerton School Board held their meeting on Monday June 28th, at 6pm. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and roll call.

The current nights agenda was then approved. The Board then made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report which was passed.

In Superintendent’s recommendations, the Board voted to approve early graduation for Austin Sturtvant retroactive to May 17th, 2021.

The board approved overnight camps for student athletes and coaches. The cross country team was approved to go to Hocking Hills, Ohio on August 2nd through the 6th.

Craig Blue was commended for his state track meet participation in the 300m hurdles. All Honor Roll students were also commended for grades 7 through 12 as well as Four County students.

The Board then accepted a donation from The State Bank in the amount of $15,000 for the Capital Campaign (Roger Strup Memorial Press Box). The donation is payable over three years at $5,000 per year.

An agreement was made with the Northwest State Community College Clinical Affiliation program. Approval was given for an agreement with Edon Northwest Local to transport Four County Career Center students.

An agreement was made with the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Detention, training and rehabilitation center. Approval was given for participation in the National School Lunch and Breakfast

Programs for the 2021-2022 school year. 2021-2022 book fees and student handbooks were also approved. School lunch fees were approved with the only increase being in adult meal prices. An increase of $0.15 will increase lunches for adults to $3.50

A tentative collective bargaining agreement was made between Edgerton Local Schools and the Edgerton Education Association effective August 1st, 2021, to July 31st, 2024. Classified salary schedules and benefits for the school year of 2021 through 2024 were also approved.

The Board then moved to accept the resignations of Samantha Lavin as the varsity volleyball coach effective immediately, Nathan Davis as a teacher at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 contract year, Krista Pahl as the 2021-2022 volleyball coach effective immediately and Matt Ripke as the social studies teacher at the end of the 2020-2021 contractual year.

An approval was made for the 2021-2022 supplemental contracts, volunteers and chaperones pending all pre-employment requirements.

The Williams County Health Department will be conducting drive through immunizations on August 3rd, 2021, at the school.

The Annex renovation is starting off and is in the early stages. The plan is to move the Central Office staff to the annex administration wing on the south end.

A new HVAC system, smoke alarms and security are being planned for all parts of the performing arts annex. The hope is to have a move in date around Christmas break.

The STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math) Lab renovation is underway this summer. Upgrades to the electrical system and carpet are being completed.

With nothing else to report the meeting was adjourned.
