Montpelier Village Council Approves Second Reading Of Resolution Updating Village Officials Compensation

The Montpelier Village Council held their meeting on Monday July 12th. The meeting was held at the Montpelier Police Department at 6:00pm. The meeting was called to order and the council moved to appoint an acting clerk.

Afterwards roll call was started resulting in everyone being in attendance. The council then held a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

A motion was then made to approve the agenda for the current meeting as well as the minutes from the June 28th council meeting with both being approved.

A motion was also made to approve the June financial reports and was also approved. The council then allowed any comments to be made from the public before moving on to the council and committee reports.

Following the committee reports, the council then made a motion to approve the road closures for the Bean Days and Balloon Fest Activities with the motion being approved.

A motion was also made to approve the Then and Now Certificate for the City of Bryan Fire Department for $1,707.68 which was approved.

The council then moved on to the second reading of Resolution 1321 regarding updating the Village Officials compensation. A motion was made to approve the resolution which passed by a 5-1 vote with council member Dan Willis voting no.

The council then moved on to discuss the Income Tax Report and the Village Mayor’s Report before adjourning.
