Patricia D. McKenzie (1929 – 2017)

Patricia D. McKenzie, 87, of Montpelier passed away Wednesday at her home.

She was born on June 7, 1929 in Elkhart, Indiana to Claire Robinett and Leone Berle Stoy. Pat graduated from Montpelier High School. She married Dana “Ray” McKenzie on November 15, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1993.

Pat was a 50+ year member of the Montpelier Moose Chapter #270, and an auxiliary member of the Montpelier Eagles. She retired after working for many years at Mohawk Tools at the time of its closing in 1991. Prior to that she worked for the Wabash Railroad out of Montpelier. Pat loved her family and friends and would do anything for them.

She is survived by her two sons, Mike (Theresa) McKenzie and Mark McKenzie of Montpelier; five grandchildren, April (Josh Hargrave) McKenzie, Tony McKenzie, Jackie McKenzie, Tina (Ryan) Custer, and Erin Dietsch; seven great grandchildren; brother-in-law Max Grant of Montpelier; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, step father Les Gamber, husband Ray, brother Gary Masters, and sister Connie Grant.


Visitation for Pat will be on Monday, April 3rd from 3-7pm at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home on Empire Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Benaiah Harris to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial contributions may be given to Williams County Relay for Life or the Northwest Ohio Alzheimer’s Association.
