peggy-a-pinettePeggy Ann Nafziger Pinette, 59 years, of West Unity, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016, after beating cancer in her daughter’s home with her family and friends at her side. We say she beat it, even though she passed away, because you beat cancer by never giving up. She fought tooth and nail in order to try and stay with her loved ones, her husband, Larry Pinette, her daughter Samantha (Ed) Bowers Eisel and her son, Tim (Brittany) Bowers and her soon to be granddaughter, Riley Ann Bowers; two brothers, Mark “Spud” Nafziger and Rodney “Frank” Nafziger.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin “Bud” Nafziger, her mother, Barb Nafziger as well as her brother, Sammy Nafziger.

In addition to being a great mother, wife and sister, Peggy devoted her life to helping others. If you happened to live in Northwest Ohio or Northeast Indiana, perhaps you or someone you cared about was helped by her in her almost 30 years of service as a member of the West Unity and Williams County EMS, or of her 20 years of working as a Paramedic for the Steuben County EMS, her nearly 35 years working at the hospital in Bryan, or at Cameron Hospital in Angola, Indiana. If you didn’t know her through any of these directly, there is a good chance someone who helped you through these services was trained by her. Needless to say, her loved ones were helped in her final days, not only by knowing how many people she has directly or indirectly helped, but also by the PARADE of people who stopped by to say goodbye, pay their respects and told her they loved her.

Per Peggy’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, rather a dinner in celebration of her life. Details can be found by contacting her daughter, Samantha Bowers Eisel via email eseisel@bright.net or her son, Tim Bowers via email thilltop@yahoo.com. The family has been cared for and services were provided by Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Steuben County EMS, 205 South Martha Street, Angola, Indiana 46703, or to the American Cancer Society.

Condolences may be sent to the family or the online guest book may be signed at www.oberlinturnbull.com
