Over 50 Pettisville FFA members participated in the Fulton County Junior Fair this year. Students volunteered at the Fulton County Pork Producers stand and Fulton County Dairy Association milkshake booth.

Pettisville FFA members also exhibited livestock through FFA, entered still projects in the FFA booth, competed in the straw stacking contest, served as mentors for Legends & Livestock, and participated in the Showman of Showmen event.

Natalia Alencastro, Alex Galvin, Genevieve Galvin, Kyle Galvin, Kaleb Wyse, and Karter Zachrich showed animals through FFA. These animals were part of the students’ Supervised Agricultural Experiences within the Agricultural Education program.

Genevieve Galvin earned Reserve Champion Market Fryer this year. When asked about her experience, Genevieve stated, “This is my first year taking a project through FFA. It was a great experience. I liked being able to put it into AET (Agriculture Experience Tracker) and continue to grow towards my goal of getting my state degree.”

Pettisville FFA members also entered still projects in the FFA booth including posters, woodworking, welding, cutting boards, stools, and flash cards. Natalia Alencastro was named the Best Overall Communications Project with her flashcards she made about Agricultural Biotechnology Lab Equipment.

Three students took part in the straw stacking contest. Ben Nagel, Gauge Huner, and Collin Nichols placed 4th in the contest.

Olivia Miller and Ava Genter were mentors in the Legends of Livestock Show this year. They both helped the showmen learn to handle their animals and learn about the animals as well.

Two Pettisville FFA students were chosen to compete in the Showman of Showman competition. Both Karter Zachrich and Ben Nagal were in the Large Animal Showman of Showman.
