(October 11th, 2014)-SWANTON: After losing the first game on the road to the Lady Bulldogs of Swanton, Pettisville came soaring back as the Lady Blackbirds won in dramatic fashion.

The hometown Bulldogs got the best of Pettisville in game 1, as the Blackbirds fell 19-25 in the set. Undeterred, the girls from Pettisville came back strong in the second game, clawing their way to a 25-16 victory to even out the series. They didn’t stop there, however. Game 3 was claimed by Pettisville as well, with the Lady Blackbirds winning a close 25-21 set. With victory within the grasp of their talons, the Blackbirds closed out the match in game 4, taking the set and the match 25-22.

With 20 kills and 7 blocks, Dana Fricke owned the net for the Lady Blackbirds, though she also recorded 5 digs and 2 aces. Teammate Jordyn Pursel made 22 digs, 15 kills, and 4 aces on the evening as well. The 35 assists of Kate Kauffman is what put both of her fellow Blackbirds in advantageous positions all night, though. Kauffman also had 10 digs, 7 kills, 3 aces, and 2 blocks in the match.
