Philemon “Phil” Grieser (1949-2020)

July 9, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

Grieser, Philemon “Phil”, Kalamazoo,  passed away Monday morning, June 29, 2020. Phil was born November 2, 1949 in Archbold, OH the son of Leon and Betty (Walter) Grieser. He attended Michigan State University and studied at St. John’s Hospital.

Prior to his retirement Phil was employed for 47 years at Bronson Hospital as a histology technician. Phil was a great man who relished his role as a caring husband, a loving father and a proud papa. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren to local sporting events.

He loved taking his 5th wheel on month long trips with his wife or weekend getaways with his grandkids. He looked forward to his long conversations with many laughs over a cold beer and maybe some trivial pursuit with his best bud Curt.

Which he’s still undefeated at! The thing he may have enjoyed the most was watching his friends and family enjoy the meal he spent days planning. Grilling was his specialty! On November 16, 1974 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Connie (Kay) who survives.

Also surviving are his children Rebecca Grieser, Matthew (Amy) Grieser , Sean Pach; 4 grandchildren, Noah, Iylah, David, William; his mother Betty Grieser; brothers and sisters, James Grieser, Carmilla (Ed) Nafzinger, Don (Dick Gibb) Grieser, Ed Grieser, Donna Augustine, Max (Bev) Grieser, Patty (Homer) Miller; and many nieces and nephews. Phil was preceded in death by his father Leon, and his son, Jeff Pach.

Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at Lord of Life Church, 9420 Portage Rd Portage, MI 49002, July 25th 1:00 – 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tuberous Sclerosis Foundation. To view Phil’s personalized webpage please visit https://www.langelands.com
