The Pike-Delta-York Board of Education met for its regular session on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.

Roll call was taken, and both the agenda and previous meeting minutes were approved. Afterward, a discussion took place regarding state voucher programs and their financial impact on public school districts.

The meeting then moved into financial matters, and the board reviewed results from the district’s recent bond refinancing, which will return savings to the community.

Interest rates have begun trending downward again, and revenue for the month came in slightly higher than the previous month.

Year-to-date revenue remains lower, though increases in public utility and income tax collections helped offset that. Donations were also reviewed before the report was approved.

Recognition of students and visitors followed, beginning with Students of the Month. For Delta Elementary School, honorees were Holden Segrist (KG), Amelia Greene (1st), Elijah Smith (2nd), Hadley Cass (3rd), and Brantley Moyers (4th). Delta Middle School recognized Summer Detrick (5th), Piper Riley (6th), Miley Chadwick (7th), and Bailey Leininger (8th). Delta High School recognized Asher Stephens (9th), Adriana Krise (10th), Ana Gilders (11th), and Abbey Todd (12th).

Athletic recognitions included team achievements by boys and girls soccer, middle school boys cross country, football, boys and girls golf, volleyball, cross country runners, and multiple all-league, all-district, and all-state selections as listed on the agenda.

Building updates were discussed next. At the elementary school, staff highlighted strong participation in recent family events, along with forty-five students registered for the annual holiday haircut program. Guidance staff continue to support families during the holiday season with help from local businesses.

Middle school staff reported on the sixth-grade camp trip, noted that midterm grades will be posted next Monday, and shared that fifty-two veterans attended this year’s Veterans Day celebration.

Upcoming events include a pie activity and the dodgeball tournament, and the school has renewed its partnership with NatureFresh for fresh produce.

High school staff provided updates on the district wide safety day, the senior citizens luncheon, and Four County presentations for sophomores.

Students attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, and staff are preparing next year’s handbook while pursuing a grant aimed at helping students on IEPs stay on track for graduation. Fall concerts and sports seasons have concluded, and work on the upcoming musical continues.

Personnel matters and policy updates came next, along with approvals for corrected wrestling travel dates, the NBEC cybersecurity contract, the annual special education model policy, and an asynchronous learning day on February 24, 2026, for grades nine, ten and twelve.

The superintendent also discussed reorganizing staffing in the high school guidance office and announced that the high school principal position will be posted in December, with interviews planned for late January. Information was also shared about the upcoming Board Member Basics training and OSBA’s strategic planning process.

The board then entered executive session at 7:15 p.m. The meeting was then adjourned following the board’s return.
