Pioneer Police Department Attends Award Ceremony For People’s Choice Photo Challenge

HONORED … K9 Officer Randy Mills, Chief Tim Livengood, Sgt. Cody Rostorfer of the
Columbus Division of Police Board, and Lt. Greg Franey of the Westerville Division of Police Board, came together with not pictured Mr. Bill Swank (Founder of Light Ohio Blue) to honor the Pioneer Police Department for their accomplishment.

The Pioneer Police Department won the 2023 Light Ohio Blue First Responder Photo Challenge thanks to 4,616 votes from the community and were recently formally honored for it in a ceremony at Hilliard’s First Responder Park.

With a population of around 1,400, the Pioneer Police Department won with 4,616 votes in the challenge that was sponsored by Light Ohio Blue, Light Ohio Red, and Flying Cross Uniforms of Ohio in remembrance of the 22nd anniversary of the heroic actions made by first responders after the attack on 9/11.

WINNING PHOTO

The winning photo featured K-9 Officer Vader in front of a police cruiser at the Pioneer football field, and Chief Tim Livengood joined Officer Randy Mills to represent Pioneer in the acceptance of winning first place in this friendly photo competition, being “both humbled and honored to have been selected as the People’s Choice” by the support of the community.
