Renee C. Borton (1962 – 2017)

Renee C. Borton, 54, of Montpelier, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on November 29, 1962 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Haskell L. and Sybeth A. Carter. Renee graduated from Spartanburg High School and after graduation she began training to become a pharmaceutical technician. On June 30, 2000 she married Daniel W. Borton and he survives.

Renee had worked for 30 years as a pharmacy technician with the last 10 years spent working at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. She was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Montpelier where she was involved in volunteering with the children’s ministry. Renee was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.

Renee is survived by her husband, Daniel W. Borton; father, Haskell Carter of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one daughter, Elisha Renee Roden of Montpelier; five step children, Daniel W. Borton, Jr., of Montpelier, Brianna Phillips of Archbold, Bailey Borton of Blakeslee, Tasha (Mark) Stout of Hillsdale and Michael Borton of Hillsdale; two grandsons, Connor Phillips and William Stout; one brother, Timothy Carter of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sybeth A. Carter.

Visitation for Renee will be held on Tuesday, February 7th from 2-8 p.m. at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home Empire Street Chapel in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Benaiah Harris to officiate. Renee will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Donations may be made in memory of Renee to The House of Prayer Church or to the family.
